> Devias is an open-source platform that works as an operating system for a business: a core (records, views, workflows, agents, permissions) with installable modules.
> Pages are typed by folder. concepts/ explains what things are, guides/ gives procedures, reference/ is exhaustive (SDK, CLI, HTTP API), operate/ covers hosting. Use /start/glossary for exact terms.
> Every id in a module (module, object, field, view, action, workflow, step, connection, variable, event, policy) is a uuid. Generate them with `devias id <count>`. Never invent dotted or readable ids.
> Run `devias plan` and read its output before `devias apply`. Apply only what the plan says.
> The OpenAPI document, including the routes of the modules in the reference setup, is at /reference/api/openapi.json.
> Devias is young and changes quickly. If a page and the source repository (github.com/devias-io/devias) disagree, the repository is right.

# Built-in modules

> The modules in the Devias repository under modules/. A table lists what each adds, which modules it needs, and what it is a good example of (smallest module, layouts and agents, custom screens, connections, webhooks and workflows, actions on another module's records).

These modules live in the repository under `modules/`. They are installed from **Settings → Modules**. Each one is also a worked example of the parts described in [Build a module](https://docs.devias.io/guides/modules/what-a-module-is.md).

## Modules in the repository

| Module | Adds | Needs | Good example of |
| - | - | - | - |
| CRM | People, companies and deals, with a pipeline board, record pages, a Sales agent and a skill for closing out a deal | None | All three parts (manifest, server, studio) and layouts, agents and skills. Most other modules build on it. |
| Products | Products and their prices, one time or recurring | None | |
| Quotes | Quotes for deals, with their items | CRM | |
| Invoicing | Invoices, lines and payments for the people and companies in the CRM, with actions to recalculate an invoice and add a payment | CRM | Actions that other modules call |
| Expenses | What the business spends, by category, supplier and deal, from approval to reimbursement | CRM | The smallest module: a manifest and nothing else |
| Inventory | Stock across locations, as moves in and out | CRM, Products | |
| Payments via Stripe | Customers pay invoices online through a Stripe payment link, and the payment is recorded on the invoice | Invoicing | A connection, actions, events, a webhook and a workflow |
| Email via Resend | Sends email from workflows and reacts to deliveries, bounces and opens | None | An API-key connection, one action and delivery events |
| Enrichment via Context.dev | Fills in what a CRM person is missing (job title, city, country, LinkedIn, X, GitHub, website and company) from Context.dev. It never overwrites what is there, and each match costs 20 Context.dev credits. | CRM | An action on another module's records, and workflows that start switched off |

The Context.dev module can be run from a person's Actions menu, or through its workflow that looks up every new person.

## Where to read each part

| To learn | Read |
| - | - |
| The smallest module | `modules/expenses` |
| Layouts, agents and skills | `modules/crm/src/manifest` |
| Custom screens | `modules/crm/src/studio` |
| A connection, a webhook and a workflow | `modules/payment-stripe` |
| An action on another module's records, and workflows that start switched off | `modules/enrichment-context-dev` |
